Live Musical Performances

This year’s musical line-up spans a wide variety of styles and genres, characterizing the diversity of Latin America.  Of note is Plena Libre, four-time Grammy nominees who infuse salsa with the African-derived rhythms of Puerto Rico’s plena y bomba music. As the New York Post raved in a five-star review, “Where would the contemporary plena and bomba be without… Plena Libre?”  Latin Grammy winners Locos por Juana will return to the festival with their funky blend of cumbia and reggae.  Miami’s Elastic Bond will bring their eclectic Afro-Latin soul and funk to the stage.  Raleigh’s Orquesta GarDel will get the crowd moving with old school salsa and Latin grooves.  Rhythm +, playing energetic Latin Jazz, Bakalao Stars, playing rock en español, and SoulBrasil, featuring samba and bossa nova, represent some of Charlotte’s local talent.
